What causes diabetes and how can it be prevented

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the number of people with diabetes worldwide has exceeded 400 million, bringing the problem to the "epidemic" stage. Obesity, aging, genetic factors, and lack of physical activity are among the main causes of diabetes. Here's what you need to know about this disease and ways to prevent it:

Unexpected reasons. Research and scientific evidence is growing on other factors that cause non-obese diabetes, and malnutrition that causes over-eating of starches. Among the reasons that have been highlighted recently: tension, sleep deprivation and sleep, and taking drugs that reduce the proportion of cholesterol in the blood.

A recent study published in the journal "Diabetis" found that a lot of sleep reduces the sensitivity of the body to insulin, and that the blue light of the electronic screens contribute significantly to delay the bedtime, and increase insomnia.

Another study, published in the Journal of Endocrinology, suggests that excessive intake of antibiotics is a factor in insulin sensitivity.
Other studies have suggested that eating too much red meat is a factor in diabetes and that vitamin D deficiency can also be a factor.

Protection. Balanced nutrition that includes whole grains, legumes, healthy fats, complex carbohydrates and protein helps prevent diabetes.

Sleep plays an important role in the balance of body hormones, as well as exercise, and this is reflected in the delay or prevention of diabetes.
